About Puerto Rican Genealogy Ancestry

Even though my website is relatively new, I thought it was a good idea to post a disclaimer in the 'About Me' page just to clear out any questions or confusion that people may have in the future about this website just in case my audience grows.

The purpose of Puerto Rico Genealogy is to provide information to beginners on how to find ancestors from Puerto Rico. I may include other parts of the world as Puerto Rico is a fusion of different cultures. I will also provide information about the history of Puerto Rico. I also want to share information related to Genetics. I will share different sources such as websites, books, shows, and movies from people knowledgeable about the subject.

I am not a professional genealogist at this moment. I am just a hobbyist who started to get interested in genealogy at the end of 2018 after taking a DNA test. I always had a strong desire to create a website about Puerto Rico to share it to the world and genetic genealogy was the perfect subject for me. I feel there should be different representations in the genealogy community specifically for the newcomers who have no clue where to begin.

I still have a lot to learn about genealogy, history and science and this is a portal for me to document all the knowledge I have learned from my own genealogy research with the hopes that I can help somebody else in their journey.
